Get more out of the "Quick Access Toolbar" just by making this one simple change
Updated: Mar 19, 2022
We've previously written about the Quick Access Toolbar and how your can make it a Power User Toolbar. Today we're going to show you a simple way to make it stand-out more visually and bring it in a little closer to reach.
The Quick Access Toolbar is easy to forget about, it's kind of one of those 'out of sight, out of mind' scenario's. The good news is that we can make a simple tweak that will bring it into focus and give it a little bit of life and colour.
The Quick Access Toolbar is contextual, in Outlook where we have different kinds of windows you can decide to move it for each of the windows. For the steps below we're just going to move it in our main Outlook application.
Locate your Quick Access Toolbar and click the Customize Quick Access Toolbar button
Click on "Show Below the Ribbon"
That's it, two steps and you are done, your Quick Access Toolbar should now be a few pixels closer to where you are doing your work and also full of colour!
PRO TIP
Don't forget to customize the functions in your Quick Access Toolbar. We suggest adding the following functions: new email, new task, new meeting, and Send to OneNote.
